A ROMANTIC CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER CRUISE ON THE RIVER SEINE IN PARIS

We love Paris! It is one of our favourite places in the world, and Christmas makes this wondrous place even more special. And spending the yuletide season which is the most magical time of the year in one of the most magical cities on Earth is an opportunity that will create memories to last a lifetime.

Edward and I celebrated our 2018 Christmas Eve in Paris and I can say that Christmas here needs no introduction. The City of Love and Lights pulls out everything to offer a spectacle of sparkle and magic. Christmas river cruise along one of the great French waterways on Christmas Eve sounds very dreamy to me, but it had realised as quick as I thought that it would not happen.

To start it off, we climbed aboard a panoramic glass-covered boat of Paris en ScΓ¨ne  (one of the most popular and oldest river Seine dinner cruises and if you’re on a tighter budget, this is an affordable option.πŸ˜‰ ) At around 180€, it already includes the dinner set – starter, main course, dessert, all traditional French dishes and of course the champagne to top it off. Plus! a premium seat front row of the boat! It lasted for 2.5 hours and we got to see the magic of Paris floodlit by night.

A 3-Minute Timelapse of our Dinner Cruise

We fancied seeing the heart of Paris live up to its reputation as the world’s City of Light while indulging ourselves on a festive 3-course meal and listening to commentary about the city as we sail along. We admired the historic quays of the Seine, the golden dome of Les Invalides, the bombastic building of French Parliament and the railway station of MusΓ©e d’Orsay. We got up close to the Gothic facade of Notre Dame Cathedral (blessed to have seen it before it get burnt) and cruised under some of the city’s historic bridges. And most especially we’re mesmerised upon seeing the Eiffel Tower illuminated after dark.

With the cruise along River Seine after the sun goes down truly made a romantic evening for us and as it is rightfully renowned as the city of love and romance, our cruise to Paris is undoubtedly the most memorable one. Not to mention the souvenir photo we’ve got from the onboard photographer 😍

The magic of Christmas in Paris is an intoxicating and amazing experience and as this year’s holiday season is getting closer and closer, our celebrations may end up being rather different this year, with the tough potential of restrictions on where we can travel. But, amidst this pandemic may we all still feel jolly for this season.. ❀️
