One of our side trips in Cyβs birthday holiday in Switzerland is our short journey to Interlaken and Grindelwald. We never thought that this jaunt would be one of the best highlights on our Swiss trip.

Interlaken is a town located in the mountainous Bernese Oberland in the Swiss central region. Sitting in the valley, a resort town lotus between two emerald coated lakes of Thun and Brienz, where it got its name – Inter-Laken. There you will find its old timber houses and parklands left and right wherever you look you will see those. Sceneries like only in Hollywood settings you will spot.
view from the top of Harder Klum
On our swing to Interlaken, we went to the nearest mountain from the town, the Harder Kulm – your easiest way to get the taste of Bernese Alps. We rode the very old but well maintained funicular railway which will land you the Kulmβs summit. Here you will afford the staggering views of the neighbouring mountains and snow-capped tops of the Alps from afar. There you can also try the paragliding for an extra bucks if you are brave enough and soon you will find yourself landing on the middle of the town. Or you can choose to chillax in the castle-cum-restaurant on the top of Kulm and wait βtill the sunset coloured the town orange in the dusk with a breathtaking ascent.
After a small walk in the town of Interlaken we head way to Grindelwald. A popular tourist getaway, skiing in winter and hiking on summer. It is also known as the βGlacier Villageβ due to its impressive array of glaciers. Get the stunning views of the surroundings, peaks of the Eiger, MΓΆnch and Jungfrau.
Lauterbrunnen Waterfalls
On our leisure time we opted to ascend on the summit of Mt. First by cable car to see the majestic sweeping panoramas and stunning surrounding sights. On the top of Grindelwaldβs First we did the cliff walk up to the edge where we savour the spectacular view of the town from the zenith.
We had our lunch in a resto there and stayed for a bit for some photo-ops. Then we descend back to town with our hearts full. We spend the rest of the afternoon for leisure, browse shops and had our hot Swiss cocoa drink.
Afterwards, we head back to Lucerne and had our dinner there. We backtrack to our hotel to get a decent rest as we will embark for another swiss-certified adventure the next day.
